Our program is designed to drive measurable results
Our approach
-
Small Group Coaching
The academic research is clear: high-intensity tutoring is one of the best ways to accelerate student learning. Our coaching model builds on those results and adds a focus on creating confident, independent learners.
-
Family Engagement
The more a student practices, they more they learn. With that in mind, every two weeks we provide parents clear, action-oriented updates on their child’s progress. This helps them support practice at home, which further increases academic growth.
-
Connections to classrooms
We work closely with teachers to make sure our program is aligned with what is happening in their classroom. Our games, competitions, and interactive activities also make learning a positive experience for our students and increase confidence in class.
"It's super rewarding to help individual students. And in the long term, when these third graders get into high school, their improved math skills will increase the likelihood that they go to college. And if they do, they’ll earn more money than they would have without a college degree. I love knowing that my own work as a coach will have a long-term impact on some big societal issues like income inequality."

See what we’ve learned
-
Motivating students via competitions
We’ve run experiments to test how big of an impact in-class competitions can have on student motivation.
-
More practice leads to more learning
We’ve measured the relationship between practice and academic growth.
-
Real-time progress vs. standardized tests
We’re testing how well short, weekly assessments map to standardized test results.
